Chaos army showcase continued - Khorne

Sooo, next up of my pride and joy is the khorne stuff. I have some more to add to this group as this is older photos. but this is enough to be showcasing in one go anyhow

Khorne was what got me into chaos in the first place. the khorne line has always been pretty cool, and the colour scheme is great to work with. always liked beserkers, kharn the betrayer is an awsome model, even by todays standards, and the general theme has always caught my eye!

 So here are the pics...

Kharn the betrayer and Huron Blackheart. Kharn is one of my all time favourite models. i think i have painted 10-20 of them

A sample of beserkers.. I used to have a zillion of these bad boys, think its only a couple squads now but i still love the models.

These are some of my conversions. i love to convert different models. my army has alot of HQ type figures :) I particularly like the Khorne sorcerer pictured third. he turned up in a army set i bought, i had to paint him!!

Another model that came into my hands already made. I loved painting this model! I used chaos black base coat and before it totally dried sprayed on some blood red from a high angle to create the base colour in a shaded manor and almost highlighting it before u touch a paint brush. obviously i did several highlights after but you gain so much time by starting in that position.

Now thats a paint scheme!! hope u agree :P. I really like the model too. I have a conversion with the skulltaker on one of these bad boys too.. looks awsome. will get a pic for here asap

And finally a forgeworld world eater dreadnought

Nurgle Oblitorators

I have had and seen some seriously quality nurgle oblitorators. the oblitorator kits really do lend themselves to the nurgle theme and theres so much room for a sweet conversion oportunity!!

I bought a massive nurgle army once, 3000+ points worth it was. I bought it with the view to sell most of it again and i did making a tidy profit. but there was some nurgle oblitorators in there which really captured my imagination and they looked the part. i really wanted to show them off here. so i thought id post some pics.

The tenticles are my favourite part. im not sure where they came from though, so if anyone recognises the parts please let me know. The plastic kits in the chaos ranges now though have so many goodies in them, these conversions should be easy peasy :) go wild i say. trick is not to make the model look too busy. and get the fit looking ''right'' if it looks out of proportion etc it makes the model look odd. thats the biggest challenge you have to overcome making these bad boys

I have loads of spare oblitorator torsos and broken up bits that belong to these models through buying so many armies on ebay. so i thought id have a go a making a few myself. converted up. i was aiming to sell these on ebay so I tried not to spend a huge amount of time. But it is very hard to! soooo easy to get carried away!

This is what i came up with... and they sold really well :)

I used a lot of the spawn of chaos range. various heads from my bits box ( i dont like the original oblitorator heads much) and what ever else I had to hand. My bits boxes are huge so I dont necessarily need to look far to find inspiration.

More on the chaos collection - Nurgle

Hey all. I had a few spare minutes this afternoon so I decided to get some more pictures of my collection on here! I also gone back over pictures of commissions i did and models i moved on which are pretty cool so i can post a lot more quality pics in the next few days

These are the best of the nurgle models I have/had.

Epidemius, the tally man of nurgle. i really like this model. he looks daunting to paint when u build him, but once u get some of the base colours on hes a real pleasure to paint. I used this one to showcase, and gained several commissions off the back of it. I eventually sold this model. but i have a new epidemius kit so will get that one underway. let me know if you want to see how I did it. If theres some interest i will do a small step by step tutorial on here - gotta give it a whirl

Typhus Lord of Nurgle, with two converted terminator bodyguards. i made several termis, but i picked out a couple good pics just to show you. love working on nurgle conversions. so much scope for what u can do!

Dreadnought. Again slightly converted. some green stuff sculpting on here but nothing fancy.

Rhino Tank. i think I must have sold this one too.. but I liked the picture so i put it up for you all to see

Converted nurgle Lord.

Nurgle demons. Had great fun painting these up too. I am feeling another stint of nurgle production coming on. i will see what i have to build with and keep you posted

Heres a forgeworl giant spawn I did in a nurgle scheme. loved this model but i did sell him. £80 was what i got for him. what do you think?

Skaven Army up on ebay.. so it begins

Sooooo.. finally i have pulled my finger out and restarted listing some of my masses of warhammer figures on ebay. If all goes well i think i will start trading the models again on a semi part time basis. but this is time depending and on if i can find a way to expand my farm business... either way, theres exciting stuff to come :)

I have listed a small Skaven force. i always split them into different lots so potential purchasers can pick and choose what they want/need. Definately the best way to sell warhammer at auction in my opinion.

The Skaven force is a very nicely modelled army. painted really well. its not a professional job but its a very effective and cleanly done job. If your interested here is the link to the first item and some pictures of the models.

More Chaos - Undevided

I have a couple star/central peices in my army, not necessarily the best but im particularly proud of these. So i wanted to show them off...

Be'Lakor... what an awsome model - far outstrips that new deamon prince plastic kit!!! I think they pushed that bad boy out the design stage too quickly, the model doesnt look quite right to me. Be'Lakor will remain my favourite deamon prince, (maybe short of some foreworld models, but hes still the business :P)

And yes thats a stone from the yard lol (unpainted too)

Another model i was going to post here is a undevided sorcerer on a bike. i had a part made bike that arrived with an army i bought on the net. i was going to find a rider for it and finish it off.. then decided i would make a lord unit from it or something. Im not sure of the rulings on this but i dont do this hobby so i can use them in battle.. so that is not really my concern when making these converted guys!

So this model ended up as a sorcerer on a bike. I used an old schooly fantasy knight head and a new knight kit arm for the staff, with a small addition. Most of the other parts are standard bits. i didnt go too wild. i think for a good conversion u need to stay focused, and for the most part less is more. The Book of magic attatched to the rear of the bike is from a dark angels kit. I free handed some scribbles in a slaanesh type theme, but with the idea that different powers have different pages ;)

the next peice is a Giant spawn forgeworld model. i painted this as a commission about 3 years ago. but got let down by the customer. not cool at all! oh well... his loss!

I used a lid from a food container for the base. it was one of those freshly made soups u get in most supermarkets these days i think, quite sturdy and a good ridge around the outside which left a nice finish after I laid down the gravel etc. i built it up a fair bit to cover up the resin between his claws, making it appear virtually free if that nasty webfoot problem :P. i painted one in a nurgle scheme once too, another commission. i liked that one even more. and it took ages to remove the excess resin on that model so i decided to base this one! I'll dig out a picture of the nurgle one and post it here later

Heres the nurgle giant spawn i did as promised. i sold him for £80!

1st peek into the Chaos army - Tzeentch

Ok, i decided id give the light box idea a go.. so i got the camera out, dusted off some minis, and started snapping. I need some time to perfect the box i feel.. but I got some half decent photos with just the background and 2 lamps. I had taken many pics of the army before but theyr all trapped in a faulty computer.. school boy error not backing that up lol.. DOH!

A quick note before i proceed, please excuse the grammer/spelling. I spend too much time txting/writing in slang and so abreviated words that it just comes out in general text. and so this is what happens :P

Anyhoo.. i decided to show a small group on Tzeentch models i have. they are a tidy group within my army. the whole army is very diverse and themes are mixed. i have sorced some from different places, had some painted, painted some myself.. and so on. so its not the tidiest unit. thast something i think i will change. so i think some of my current models will get the axe and end up on ebay.

I really like the tzeentch models. they can look real smart and the colours are bold. as things progress in the model making world in terms of precision and detail they are becoming out dated but these guys still look the part in any chaos army!! I think i will start by showing a thousand sons squad i have. its 6 marines with a sorcerer...

A pretty tidy bunch i hope you will agree. next i'm going to show u a terminator squad. I'm so proud of these guys. i was trauling through ebay and found a couple converted termis, they looked pretty cool so a picked em up. cheap too ;). i likes them so much i had to find the bits to complete a squad, this wasnt so cheap, but was well worth it.

Very fitting for the powers of tzeentch! i was soooo chuffed. i put them on larger bases and made them a little scenic. the heads came from eagle riders in the wood elves range most of the termi arms are probably 1st or 2nd edition, real old school, but thats part of the tzeentch effect. then the trophy racks are from the the dark angel raven gaurd bike squadron i think. they were the most expensive part to source. i was jammy enough to get the eagle heads by recking 2 perfectly good eagles lol but those racks were £2 each special order, and i bet u cant get them at all any more!! the whole look really wraps up the tzeentch theme in my eyes.

sooo... i made a termi lord to finish this off lol

I went to town on this one. Abaddons body, termi champion head, possesed marines claw encasing a heavy flamer which backlinks to the power armour. The trophy rancks are taller than the terminators in the squad, for that superior look. and i used the tank traps etc on the base as i did in the rest of the squad. i have no idea where the power claw comes from. it was in the bits box, so couldnt resist :)

Also i have a couple tzeentch tanks and a forgeworld tzeentch dreadnought. i bought these from a dutch guy so i cant take credit for the work. but they suit my guys well. so here they are

Another tzeentch guy i possess is a sort of sorcerer in terminator armour (probably not aloud in the rules lol) but i got bored and had a tonne of bits to play with and literally built a model out of a box of scrap. nothing more satisfying i tell ya haha.. here he is

Random eh... hehe

Well thats the main part of the tzeentch stuff i wanted to post.. so to keep things tidy i will stop here. More to come...
